Uniqueness and creativity is 101%

30 Aug

When it comes to gift giving why do we always have a hard time finding the best and cutest gift that we can possibly give to our loved ones? In my case, I want something that is so unique and that can rarely be seen in any of the local department stores. By the way, our 5th wedding anniversary is coming up and I am thinking about purchasing the unique anniversary gift I found at just paper roses dot com. They have this toilet paper printed with “Happy anniversary, I love you” and I thought this was so cute. I’ve never seen anything like this before. What I love about their products is that they have all kinds of anniversary gifts by year that you can choose from.

I also love this anniversary bear with cotton rose. Mind you guys, this gift is specifically made for those couples who will be celebrating their second wedding anniversary. Isn’t it so adorable? I can actually buy something similar to this, but it’s a little different. For those couples who are celebrating their 5th wedding anniversaries, just like me, I can get the bear with wood rose instead of the cotton rose. So perfect and they’re inexpensive too. I hope my husband will read this post so he can have some idea on what kind of gift I like on our wedding anniversary.

Canon cameras on sale

30 Aug

I love the camera that my husband purchased for me last year. It came with a video disk that talks about the basic use of DSLR camera’s. My husband used his tax return last year to buy me a New Nixon camera. Before I got my new camera, I was using a Canon camera that my husband got for a gift from his sister. It was a point and shoot type camera so it wasn’t one of those fancy kind. My husband was looking at the canon EOS Rebel T2i digital camera. He likes this camera and the company he works for (a transportation company) was advertising this kind of camera on their buses. This camera is easy to use, light weight, it’s a digital SLR camera with 18 mega pixel cmos image sensor. It’s just like the camera my husband bought me. Maybe one day he can buy one for himself.

I’m waiting for the invitation

26 Aug

I wonder when and who will be organizing the baby shower party for the sister in our congregation. She will be be giving birth soon. I didn’t receive any baby shower invitations yet. I think she will give birth in a couple of months but no one has informed me about her baby shower party yet. She’s having another boy. Her eldest son is already 4 years old and she fears that her son will get jealous of his soon-to-be little brother. Before she learned about her baby’s gender she was hoping to have a baby girl, but unfortunately she’s going to have another baby boy. I asked her if she wants to try to get pregnant again but she undoubtedly said “NO, I’m too old already”. She’s in her late 40’s and she doesn’t want to get pregnant anymore. I don’t blame her.

Paper work

11 Aug

I just turned the preschool handbooks in into the registrar’s office today. Oh boy, it was a lot of paper work, sign here and sign there. I had to fill up more or less 20 pieces of documents for my son’s record into their office. I remember, there were documents that states about low cost clothing (urban clothes), low cost of insurance, law enforcements and etc… At first I didn’t fill any of the boxes but when they checked it they told me to just fill them up even if I don’t want them just for their funding sake. I think they were required to do that by the state. It’s good though because they can assist us when it comes to finding some low costs services because they want to ensure that they are assisting the families of their students.

Not good :-(

03 Aug

We should’ve listened to our intuition in the first place. I am talking about the mattress stain protector that we bought in the department store. We should’ve bought the ones that we’re offered to us by the clerk at the furniture store but we didn’t because we thought that the price was absurd. Instead we bought the cheaper ones at the Wal-Mart store thinking that it will be ok. Grreee! You don’t want to know what happen. The mattress protector looks terrible. It looks like cottony and you can easily peel the lint’s off. And besides every time we move it produces some roughing noise. That’s what we get from buying the cheap material. Inexpensive products are not always good.

Disappointment

22 Jul

If only we knew what and how our couch would be look like 5 years from now, we would’ve bought the contemporary sofas instead. We love our new living room set, don’t get me wrong by that. But after we saw our friend’s sofa and loveseat, which are similar to ours in style, texture and appearance, my husband and I were disappointed. Our friend’s living room set was untidy and the pillows were wrinkly. I actually tried to wash the pillow cases a few weeks after my son accidentally stained it, the pillows looked terrible. Geezzzzz! We should be picky next time around.

Mommy I’m scared

28 Jun

Before we go to bed at night, my son would always ask me to read him some bible story book. If we don’t have the book in our bedroom then he’ll go and get it in our bookshelves in the living room. But before he goes to the living room, he’ll pause and say “mommy I’m scared to wayagus”. If you don’t know who “wayagus” (I hope I spell it right) is, well, he is the monster in one of his favorite show wow wow wabsy. I had to re-assure him that “wayagus” is just a character in the TV show and he’s not true. Then, he’ll have the trust in his face. I tell him to just turn the lights on in our hallway, kitchen and living room so he won’t be scared. Then he’ll say “don’t be scared it’s just on TV”. He’s funny and annoying at the same time.

The diamond is gone

24 May

I lost it and I feel so sad. I should’ve taken it to the jewelry shop to have my engagement ring fix. It was my entire fault; if only I listened to my intuition I will still have it on my finger. My husband bought my engagement ring in the Philippines at one of the diamonds store in the province where I live. Actually I got a lot of compliment from that ring. Everyone who saw it says it’s pretty. Now, I don’t wear my engagement ring anymore because it’s useless because the diamond is GONE!

1st Family portrait (60’s effect)

11 Mar

We had our first family portrait last year and the background is like in the 60’s. We love it so much because it’s unique. The sitting fee is free that’s why we took the opportunity to do it. Costumes and accessories were provided by the photography company. My husband was asked which clothes he prefers to wear (suit or tuxedos) and he chooses the suit. We gave some copies to our friends and family and they all love it. They we’re saying that we had a unique family portrait. Well, that’s the whole purpose anyways!

Duh!

05 Mar

It’s kind of boring for me today. My children are taking their naps (Thank God) my mind can rest from their annoying voices even for just a little bit. My children are so precious you know, but sometimes they get into my nerves. I guess that’s normal. Ok today, I checked my inbox to see if I have some important emails. After that, I logged into my facebook account to see some updates from my friends (who’s who and what’s new). One of my friend’s statuses say’s “On the hunt for philadelphia pa jobs”. Her status kind of like “shake my head a little bit” because I really want to work and I’m also searching for a job right now. It’s really depressing when you can’t find any jobs. Whatever! Might as well free my mind frm the stress right now and play my virtual games.
